No one really likes to talk about the mental toll that large weight loss comes with. This isn't just about hormones and physical changes; it has to do with deep-rooted emotions and fundamental crucible moments that forged who I was as a person and who I felt I had to be in order to protect myself emotionally, and as those layers peel away and I start to chip away at that, it leaves me in a very sad and vulnerable spot. I always want to be transparent and honest about where this journey takes me, because so many people may be in the same boat as me and there really isn't enough preparation for how uncomfortable this part of the process can honestly be.
