Baja Back Road Adventure | Laguna San Ignacio to Bahia de Concepcion Baja California

We’re headed for the Laguna San Ignacio to escape the heat, but the journey out to this remote camping location has it’s price. The washboard road from San Ignacio is a mixture of sand and dirt and it’s slow going.

Once there, the the vistas are exceptional. With the closest full moon of the year, the tides are extreme, creating some of the best drone footage imaginable. The estuary is vibrant green as it meanders to the mouth where it meets the turquoise waters of the Pacific Ocean.

The area is a breeding ground for whales who have yet to arrive since it is only early November and the estuary has almost no bird life, so after a few days of walks on the beach we decide to head to the Bahia de Concepcion, where the temperatures are very warm, but camping on the shore provides an instant way to cool off in the calm waters.
