Overall, our Tuesday lunch date at Dave & Buster’s in Spokane Valley was a pretty mixed experience, but with a lot of positives.
The food quality was better than expected — hot dishes, fresh herbs, great flavors — but the portion sizes on the pasta and chicken felt small. It might be because we ordered through the Eat & Play Combo, but the menu doesn’t say anywhere that portions are reduced for combo meals, so that’s something to keep in mind.
The drinks were good, especially the Backwoods one, but I really wish the menu listed drink prices. They are definitely higher than other places with similar drinks.
The BBQ flatbread was the star — super soft bread, perfect toppings, and easily the best thing we tried. Hazel loved it, Killian said it was too fancy for him, but we’d absolutely get it again. The Brookie Sundae, on the other hand, was just okay — not bad, but not something we’d recommend or order again.
Our server was incredibly friendly and really knowledgeable, especially when it came to explaining the Power Play options. She wasn’t very attentive, but she might have been juggling multiple areas and had just finished a big work event, so staffing may have been tight.
One thing we were disappointed with was the bathroom. For how empty the building was, the bathrooms were surprisingly dirty — full trash cans, handprints on the stalls, unflushed toilets, and a few with leftover streaks or dirty seats. Definitely not what we expected on such a slow afternoon.
But the Power Play itself was worth it. With the combo we chose, we got 100 chips and over an hour and a half of playtime. And because the arcade was almost completely empty, we never had to wait for a single game. The game room had a good variety overall — shooters, racing games, carnival-style games, VR, and more. There were a few out-of-order machines, and I’d love to see more adult favorites like pool tables or darts, but there was definitely something for everyone.
So overall, Dave & Buster’s Spokane Valley is a fun spot, especially on a quiet weekday when you want to eat, relax, and play without crowds. There were a few downsides, but the combo deal, the flatbread, and the amount of game time we got made it a pretty good experience for a midday date.
