Produced in the memory of the signing of the Treaty Of Versailles following World War 1, this tune is credited to Mrs. Olla Hewitt by the Library of Congress in the 1919 edition of it's catalog.
Not much else is known about this composition, nor is the availability of any other copy of this song in sheet music format or other types of recordings.
If anyone has anything on this, I would be most happy to receive comments. This may well be the only extant copy of this tune, so in the historical vein I present it here.
ROLL PRODUCTION NOTE:
This roll was produced on a Leabarjan roll perforator.
The Leabarjan company of Hamilton Ohio produced a line of paper roll perforators from about 1911 until it's demise in 1928. The company produced both large and small perforating devices which enabled even the individual consumer to be able to arrange music to be played on the then current player pianos.
This particular roll has a somewhat professional label and tempo stenciling on the paper which leads me to believe it was not the only one produced but still.... may be the only extant copy around.
This music is presented here for historical value as well as a representation of Olla Hewitt's composition skills. As of this writing I can only find 2 compositions she is credited with. This one in 1918 and another in 1915.
Any additional information out there is certainly welcome !
