Psy Ko Stihl ms201TC. Not Much Slower With a 24" Bar & "Big Kid" Chain.

Like I said in the other two showings of this saw, thanks to Mr. Fisher for the extended amount of time allotment on this project. And because I took a seriously long time, instead of Insane-O he had requested which is 4th on the list of 6, this saw is at the Psy-Ko level. The upgraded zippkit comes in at #4, or two levels up, in the modification option levels that I do.
This is an M-tronic version saw where the controller, controls the fuel metering servo in the side of the carb body. This system is known to run a little lean in stock form. I've found them to richen up a little once zipped as the controller is trying to keep the engine rpms in check.
In the initial runs seen with this saw in stock form, it was in the mid 6 second to 8 + at the slowest.
Exact same bar and chain that I left untouched as in the stock test drive.
Looking at the timed runs -
201TC 14" bar, Low-pro chain @ 14,340 high idle went 5.08 up, 4.61 down, and 4.81 up.
201TC 24" bar, Standard .375 chain went 4.82 down, 4.98 up, 4.45 down, 5.11 up, and 7.38 down when tangled up in the bark on a one handed try.
If I was able to get the lp chain dialed in a bit via a good sharpening & stop adjustment, surely it "wood" have shaved off ½ second or maybe even one.
I am super well pleased that with a 24" bar & some "big kid" 3/8 chain this saw posted around the same times. Says a lot about the saw's state of tune. Well, imho anyway.
