I guess you could say this part is like Colosseum's version of the Elite 4. You have to fight several battles with no recovery in between except for the last two battles. Unlike when you fight the Elite 4 in the main games though, there's no break to heal your Pokémon or save in between the battles. You have to do this all in one go.
I tried to snag every Shadow Pokémon but Tropius got away unfortunately. I didn't want to start over after going that far, so I let it go. There will be another chance...
