Seen here is a ride on a N train, operated by R46, bound for Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue via West End.
Due to track maintenance, Coney Island bound N train service ran via West End to Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue. Passengers who want service along Sea Beach would transfer at 62nd Street or take it Coney Island and stay or transfer to a Manhattan bound N train for bypassing stations.
Passengers who want 45, 53rd, and 59 Street would have to use the R train for continuing service.
In this video, I got me an R46 coming in on the N into Ditmars Blvd-Astoria, which would later be the next train to leave for Brooklyn. This is just a normal weekend rerouted over the West End line
Sine portions of Sea Beach was closed, and we were local along Manhattan until we switched over to the Manhattan Bridge to go down to Brooklyn. There was a bit of track maintenance involved in this ride, which made us go a bit slow along 4th Avenue, but we sped up after 9th Street to 36 Street. These R46s are being phased out at Coney Island yard with the delivery of the R211 being put into service, but rumor has it the R68s will take over the N line after the R46 is retired, so better get your catch of the R46 before it gets removed from Coney Island by 2026.
In the end, it went back into service and made another trip back to Astoria from one track.
Enjoy!
