"'We Are Worthy!' We Walk with God" – Rev. Tony Ponticello
A recent Workbook Lesson had one of those foundational idea which truly makes ACIM distinctive and also very powerful. "I will receive whatever I request." (WkBk.339) Let us remember that this also means that everything I AM receiving I HAVE requested. There is no other way for experiences to come to us except by our request. There is no randomness in the universe, no chance and no accident. "It is impossible that the happenings that come to [the Son of God] were not his choice. His power of decision is the determiner of every situation in which he seems to find himself by chance or accident." (Tx.21.17)
Since it is our power of choice, then let us make good choices today. Let us choose power and peace. Let us choose strength and comfort. And certainly let us NOT choose sickness, and not just for ourselves but for everyone else as well. Let us choose to be our Selves, the Christ here in full manifestation. During this holiday season let us stride the world boldly in complete realization of the dominion we have. The world is revering us and we have to be humble enough to accept this reverence (revere: feel deep respect or admiration for something). No more false humility today. No more "We're not worthy!" like the characters Wayne and Garth kept proclaiming as they dropped to their knees in the comedy Wayne's World (1992). We ARE worthy!
Ask yourself honestly, are you walking the world and relating to it and the people who appear in it like this next powerful passage suggests? Are you letting the world revere you? "All living things are still before you, for they recognize Who walks with you. The light you carry is their own, and thus they see in you their holiness, saluting you as savior and as God. Accept their reverence." (WkBk.156.5)
Okay, who does walk with us? The Holy Spirit walks with us. Jesus walks with us. It is not actually accurate to say that Christ walks with us because we ARE the Christ, however I think we can honestly say "God walks with us" since the Holy Spirit and Jesus represent God to us. "If you knew Who walks beside you on this way which you have chosen, fear would be impossible." (Tx.18.26) Do not forget that God's representatives are walking with you today, and everyone you meet will intuitively know this. Prepare yourself to receive the gifts, and the honor, due you who walk with God. Request them.
Boldly declare, standing straight up now, "I am worthy!"
