Wrapping Your Guides | Mud Hole Remote Rod Building Classes

Arguably the most important, and daunting task in rod building, is wrapping your rod guides. We use rod wrapping thread to secure the guides to the rod blank and thread finish to seal those wraps and keep the guides from moving during casting, hookset, and ultimately landing that trophy fish.

Those are basically the only requirement for wrapping your guides. After that you are free to get as creative (or not) as you would like. Here we teach you the basics to get a solid, clean guide wrap every time. From there, the options for thread color and decorative accents are endless.
