What’s more, Belarus became a co-aggressor state, lending its territory to Russia, making Belarus part of the war in Ukraine. Since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, the social, economic and political situation in Belarus has deteriorated. Alexander Lukashenko has cracked down on political activism with repressions that are harsher than even those in Putin’s Russia.
