The Jews missed Jesus' first coming. They should have recognized Jesus as the messiah by the plethora of scripture which all pointed exclusively to Him, from His birth, to all the events in His life, and finally His death. They should have known.
The problem was, due to their own desires, they had grown to accept false ideas--deceptions--concerning Messiah and what He would do when He appeared. Satan deceived the Jews, groomed them to hold to false expectations concerning the Messiah. When Jesus did not meet their expectations, they rejected Him!
Could we be seeing a repeat of this same type of deception before Jesus comes the second time?
