In Sierra Leone, 60-70% of rural women are #farmers who work tirelessly to put food on our tables, yet we often #overlook them as the true food heroes. Without their #contributions, human existence would be #profoundly impacted. Their dedication, from #soil to #table, sustains every Sierra Leonean. Through the #FeedSalone initiative, we believe that when women have access to resources and leadership opportunities, their lives can be #transformed, driving sustainable development, food security, and innovation.
Since its #inception, the Feed Salone Initiative has placed women at the #forefront of this transformation by providing support through inputs, extension services, agricultural credit facilities, and leadership opportunities. This empowerment has enabled them to become independent, actively supporting their households and communities.
As we continue to #uplift these industrious women, their contributions deserve recognition. Therefore, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, alongside its partners, joins the global community in #accelerating actions that foster gender equality in agricultural transformation in Sierra Leone.
