Cleveland area weather forecast: Previewing a messy Wednesday

Your 11 p.m. Greater Cleveland and Northeast Ohio weather forecast for Dec. 8, 2025: Quiet conditions continue through the evening and overnight, but temperatures remain chilly. Many areas drop into the 10s tonight, feeling closer to 0 degrees at times. A quick clipper system will bring a brief window of light snow potential on Tuesday. Just a chance for a couple of brief snow showers (especially further north) through the late morning and early afternoon. A good southerly breeze will develop. Temperatures get back above freezing later in the day.

That southerly wind will keep temperatures above freezing Tuesday night and heading into Wednesday as our next large system approaches. Wednesday will be the next Weather Impact Alert as this system moves in.

Temperatures stay above freezing and even improve a few degrees overnight. Precipitation will return overnight with some wet snow/rain/mix. Some areas could wake up to some fresh accumulations. It'll be a sloppy morning drive — plan on needing extra time.

Any snow/mix will transition to all rain through the late morning and early afternoon with temperatures topping out near 40 degrees. Those temperatures fall for the second half of the day behind a cold front. That will transition us all back to snow with some gusty winds and temperatures back below freezing later in the day. This will lead to a potentially slick evening drive. Again — plan on extra time!!

Cold temperatures will return with a vengeance and stick around for the foreseeable future. Highs only in the 20s through the weekend and early next week. We'll stay active too — plenty of potential for additional quick clippers and lake effect.
