KIlmara Vocalist Daniel "Dany" Ponce discusses the new Kilamara album "Journey To The Sun," getting his start as a young vocalist and the call to join Kilmara as lead vocalist.

On their new magnum opus, KILMARA sound more current, more powerful and heavier than ever, thanks to an excellent and careful production. With the aim set on finding the best and most fresh sound possible, the band put the recording of their 'Journey to the Sun' in the hands of KILMARA's Carles Salse (guitars & synths) in his Sureau Studio, and also teamed up with world-renowned and award-winning producer Seeb Levermann (Orden Ogan, Angus MCSIX, Rhapsody Of Fire, Riot V). Conceptually, 'Journey to the Sun' is set in the Arcade halls of the late 80's, where first loves, unbreakable friendships, rivalries, defeats and victory celebrations took place.

KILMARA returns with fresh energy after consolidating themselves in the Melodic Power Metal scene
with their previous work Across the Realm of Time, which represented a 180º shift in their musical
style.

After the additions of Eric Killer, a real steamroller on the Drums, and the guitarist, producer and
composer Carles Salse, the band is renewed in every way and presents their new work Journey to the Sun, an adventure of epic proportions that transcends the limits explored up to this point by the band from Barcelona.

With this new chapter in their career, KILMARA tells us about the power and strength that all human
beings are capable of gathering when we are united by the same purpose. They also tell us about the
struggle to discover the path to truth and freedom. All of this in a journey to the impossible, crossing
borders beyond this very dimension to finally reach contact with the Sun.

Conceptually set in the Arcade halls of the late 80's, where first loves, unbreakable friendships, rivalries, defeats and victory celebrations took place. Places to dream of fighting battles and commanding space feats, Journey to the Sun takes us on an immersive sonic experience evoking a golden era in which Power Metal, virtuosity, guitar duels and melodies were great, all wrapped in an atmosphere created with retrowave synth bases that will transport you to another place.

But don't think that we are facing a recreation of the past, no! KILMARA sounds more current, more
powerful and heavier than ever, thanks to an excellent and careful production focusing greatly in even
the most minumum details. With the aim set on finding the best and most current sound possible,
KILMARA put the recording of the album in the hands of Carles Salse in his own studio, Sureau Studio, and in the search for a great final sound result that enriches further their oups, they team up with world-renowned and award-winning producer Seeb Levermann (Orden Ogan, Angus MCSIX, Rhapsody Of Fire, Riot V…).
