For 7 years the poor woman who owns this donkey has always dreaded trying to get him trimmed. One thing that people just don't get, the more you try to restrain an animal, the more trouble you'll have. If the animal can't move or is restricted from moving, it becomes a flight or fight issue. Just the fact that I didn't tie him & handled his feet in a different manner, primarily the fronts, gave me a better opportunity & let him see a different approach to trimming put me way ahead of the game. Equines are pattern animals, change the pattern & you'll change the animal. It's that simple.
One other thing, learn to correct without getting mean or mad. If you can't, you're already loosing.
