Recorded as the last track for the 3rd TLC album, Fanmail, No Scrubs was released as the lead single in early 1999. According to Kandi Burruss, the song was not yet released when Bills, Bills, Bills was recorded by Destiny's Child, which allegedly was project executed in February 1999.
