I finally received this order I placed earlier this month, so I wanted to show everyone what's going on with it. I was very curious waiting for mine to come, so hopefully this will help some other people with their decision. Before buying, I was deciding between this and a similar Everlast machine. The deciding factor was primarily the customer service. I was originally turned off by the thought of so much shielding gas being wasted, but some calculations helped me to realize it actually wouldn't be that bad for a hobbyist such as myself.
A little bit about me:
I am not a welder. I am maybe a novice at best. By day, I am a high school band director. I started welding so I could build my own instrument frames instead of having to buy them...they can get very expensive. I learned to stick weld 6011 and 6013 on a Miller Thunderbolt (AC only) from a retired pipe welder. The rest of my training comes from some light reading, seat time, and watching Jody Collier's videos. I'm always trying to get better, so please let me know if you see me doing anything stupid.
Sorry that there aren't any arc shots. I couldn't find my tripod, so I just had to hold my phone to use as a camera. Hopefully I can do that sometime soon.
Thanks for watching!
