Malasada are fried doughnuts originating from Portugal which is quite similar to the Tongan keke isite. The custard filling and sugar coating is what caught my attention and I thought it would be a fun treat to make. I attempted and lets just say it was deee-licious! (Seriously). Hope you all enjoy!

Ingredient
1 cup of warm milk (heat in microwave for 30sec)
1 teaspoon yeast
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup soften butter (room temperature)
1 teaspoon slat
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon vinegar
3 cups of flour (sifted)
Add 1 tablespoon at a time if dough is too sticky
4-5 cups of canola oil (for frying)
1/4 cup sugar to coat
Custard filling:
1/4 custard powder
3 cups milk
2 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
