Here’s the next “Power Tune” for the Powers Music School Learners’ Irish Music Session for December 18, 2025: Johnny an Gabha- in the colonizer tongue of English, that’s Johnny the Blacksmith. It’s in D major and is the first in a set of three polkas: Johnny an Gabha, Raiseanna an Churraigh (December), and Polca Neili (November).
I got this set from a fellow local fiddle teacher named Cliodhna Fields, and have been having great fun playing these with my students.
