Nam Tok Mae Klang, Doi Inthanon National Park; Thailand

Visit my website at http://www.junglejoel.com - Nam Tok Mae Klang (Mae Klang waterfall) is located near the entrance gate of Doi Inthanon National Park; a lower and warmer region of the park. Swollen with the heavy rains of October 2010, the Mae Klang river is squeezed as it flows over the narrow waterfall -in a particularly violent display of mother nature's fury. We could feel the ground vibrating standing at the nearby trail.
This waterfall is 30 meters high according to sources I found online, though it appears to be quite short and squat. The best sense of scale can be found at approximately 3:20 in the video -where you can see the waterfall with the trail and sign in the foreground.
There is a parking lot downstream near the bridge with food vendors. Sitting on a bench next to the river we ate grilled fish for lunch -which I suspect came from the fisherman you see below the bridge! Please rate and comment, thanks!
