DIY Suspension Fix of Our 300,000 KM Land Rover Discovery 3 / S6 - EP02

In this week’s episode, we show how we prepared our trusty 2006 Land Rover Discovery 3 (now with over 300,000 km on its 2.7L TDV6 engine!) for our recent trip to Northern Spain (see last weeks episode). While there wasn’t much wrong with the vehicle, Christian has a habit of looking until he finds something to fix or improve—just to be sure everything is in perfect shape for a serious adventure.

This time, we decided to replace the upper front control arms. The aftermarket ones we installed six years ago didn’t perform well and made caster and camber adjustments tricky. Luckily, we still had the OEM arms in the basement! Christian refurbished them with new ball joints, bushings, and a durable paint job before reinstalling them.

After the install, camber adjustment went smoothly, and we used our GAP tool to fine-tune the air suspension height—perfect prep for the rugged off-road trails in Spain.

We also share how our meticulous maintenance has kept this vehicle in top shape for more than 17 years, making it the ideal companion for overland adventures.
