For this performance for @ModularWorld, I decided to blend acoustic piano and modular. I placed 2 mics above my modular pointing down at the piano. Not only was I able to record and loop the piano, but I was able to make percussive sounds hitting the modular.
I ran the mics into Ableton, then outputted them back to my modular so I could control the recorded loops. I had a trigger under my left foot to engage and disengage the recording of the loops.
I had headphones on so I could hear the click and not have it bleed into the mics.
