Proton X70 2025 Genting Test | A More Continental Look | So How Does It Go? | YS Khong Driving

The 2025 Proton X70 has been released. Mechanically it retains the same drive train as the previous model, but it seems the transmission has been tweaked somewhat for durability and reduce user abuse - the result is a lazier response to manual downshifting, although in auto mode it still is acceptable - it is still slightly faster than a slush box. Still, it means you are less likely to get shift shock related issues, meaning your gearbox would potentially last longer.

We hear the suspension has been tuned somewhat, and it did feel more comfortable , but body roll appears to have increased a bit. Thus one could say it is a bit more comfortable, and should be ojay for most people, because, after all, it is a SUV.

The 177 PS and 255 Nm of torque is sufficient enough for the job of climbing the mountain, so it is good enough for normal roads.
