Day 1 in the Dolomites kicked off with a cable car ride up into the mountains to start an unforgettable hike along the Italy–Austria border. The views were absolutely next level, wide open alpine landscapes, jagged peaks, and not a sound but nature.
We passed by a few traditional remote mountain huts, stopping for a drink at one before making our way to the next for a classic lunch of spaghetti with olive oil and chilli, simple, rustic, and so satisfying after a long hike. There’s a reason the classics are still going strong, if it’s not broke, dont fix it. 10/10, it was delish!
We ended the day with a classic Italian meal back at base, reflecting on the beauty of the day and getting excited for what was to come.
This was the perfect introduction to life in the Dolomites, peaceful, wild, and full of character. If you’re looking for bucket-list hikes, borderland views, and authentic food experiences, this is your sign to go.
