Man, this song hits. I already loved Hitsujibungaku but when this song came out I knew it was something special--the melancholy vibes, the simple yet evocative arrangement, the beautiful lyrics, the stunning melody; it all comes together so perfectly! I was excited to see that it was an ED for Jujutsu Kaisen since that meant it was pretty much guaranteed success, and yeah, it's the biggest single the band has ever released now haha. I haven't watched JJK so I don't know how it ties into the series but the ED animation they created for it is really cool! I wanted to cover this back when it dropped but I didn't have time; so it got put off--until last year when I had a sudden burst of inspiration and arranged this entire song in a day. I had a blast taking the original parts and expanding on them with new atmospheric guitar lines (fun fact: there's no synths in this cover; it's all guitar FX!) to give it more of a wall-of-sound shoegaze aesthetic! I took a lot of influence from Coldplay's Mylo Xyloto on this arrangement; as that was my favorite album of all time back in high school, and it was really fun to draw on creative influences from back then and blend them with my modern taste! I asked Mero to sing on this one because I knew she was just the perfect fit and WOW did she go off--her tone is stunning on this song!!
