🚸 For many children, getting to school safely is still a challenge—but progress is underway.
Through the Child Road Traffic Injury Prevention (CRTIP) project, UNICEF and DepEd Division Offices implemented safe school zone models and expanded road safety education in schools, reaching 43,355 students and training 3,317 teachers in pilot cities like Valenzuela and Zamboanga.
From curriculum integration in MAPEH, road safety symposiums and safe school zone models, UNICEF with support from implementing partners ImagineLaw, UP National Center for Transportation Studies, the Human Development and Empowerment Services Incorporated and the Philippine Legislators' Committee on Population and Development, children are learning how to protect themselves on the road.
