Working as a cellar hand for a few month period during the harvest period is a rite of passage for many in the wine trade, and can be the key to picking up some extra knowledge of wine, whether you want to become a winemaker as a career or not. I found each of the harvests I've done invaluable learning experiences, where I met people from all over the world, worked my ass off, and had a lot of fun too! Definitely recommend the experience to anyone looking to expand their horizons!
