Does Mouse Polling Rate Matter In CPU Heavy Games?

Does the polling rate of your mouse hugely change performance? I've done some testing with a Viper V3 Pro at 1K, 2K, 4K and 8K Hz to see what happens on different systems. I tested a high end PC, with 9800X3D and RTX 5080. A more mid range machine with a 5800X3D and RTX 3080. And what I recommend as the minimum spec for Star Citizen, the i5 10400 and GTX 1660!
