Meet Dr Matthew Winnel of the Optical Quantum Computing Theory Program at the University of Queensland. This Program aims to broaden our understanding of quantum computation from the perspective of quantum optics theory.
Regarding the future of quantum computers, Dr Winnel says, “No one knows for sure what the full potential will be. Whether or not it is a universal quantum computer, the journey there will bring results in quantum physics and applications."
The ARC Centre of Excellence for Quantum Computation and Communication Technologies (CQC2T)
is one of the world's largest teams undertaking fundamental research to create a universal quantum computing ecosystem. The CQC2T team is based across Australia at seven university nodes; UNSW Sydney, University of Melbourne, Griffith University, University of Queensland, RMIT and University of Technology Sydney.
