Students from the La Crosse Longfellow Middle School Jazz Ensemble have spent months working on this special arrangement of “The Star-Spangled Banner” by arr. Russell Peterson - Associate Professor, Saxophone and Bassoon at Concordia College in Moorhead, MN.
Members of the Longfellow Jazz Ensemble include seventh-graders Sawyer Musselman (bari sax), Jorgia Peterson (alto sax), and Ava Rizwan (tenor sax), with eighth-graders Jack Benson (alto sax), Sam Blegen (bari sax), Norah Holkup (tenor sax), and Sasanna Helson (alto sax.) And let’s not forget a big #WeAreLaCrosse thank you to the crew’s fearless leader, band director Chip Schreader for all of his hard work bringing this piece together.
The Longfellow Jazz Ensemble will be performing the arrangement at the La Crosse Loggers game on Thursday, June 2, at 6:35 p.m.
