Longport, a district in Stoke-on-Trent, England, has a rich history in pottery manufacturing, with several notable potteries and kilns contributing to its industrial heritage:
Davenport Pottery: Established in 1794 by John Davenport, this pottery was renowned for its high-quality earthenware and porcelain. The factory complex included multiple works, such as the Longport Pottery, Top Bridge Works, and Bottom Bridge Works. Davenport's products gained international acclaim, with the firm operating until 1887.
Price and Kensington Teapot Works: Located on Newcastle Street, this early 19th-century pottery complex featured a Grade II* listed bottle oven and factory buildings. The site was known for producing teapots under the Price and Kensington brands. Despite its historical significance, the factory suffered from neglect, leading to partial demolition by Stoke-on-Trent City Council in November 2019 due to safety concerns.
