News Needle July 2024 - One Election disaster after another

Events from the real World, but mixed with the Events from the Star Trek World - thats the premise of "News Needle".

I originally planned to launch this series in 2024, because, as we all know, Sisko and his friends are visiting the United States in that year. Later, Picards Second Season also added more events in exactly the same year.

Due to some problems, the project was frozen. But as the events of the real world began catch up with the fictional events, this project became my focus again. Enhanced through the possibilites of modern AI it finally came to fruition and now you can see the results.

The goal is to combine the real world events with the Star Trek Events in the same time frame, but there are, naturally, a few inconsistencies. As a reference point I used my chronology from games-and-timelines.de, where those were (mostly) corrected. You will also find more background information about the depicted events in the Background Section below. And yes, it is a sort of fanfiction, but it also should be a news report that could've been sent in reality.

It is supposed to be published on a monthly basis and there is also an E-Paper-Version if you want to read it. The Videos itself are fully generated using AI (Vidnoz), the texts are from me. If the Picture sources are not AI, they are credited here.



So yes, I know we have 2025, but I decided to start with the "important" year 2024. It is supposed to make one issue per week, until we catch up with the actual 2025 month.

Background:
From the real point of View the withdrawal of Biden and the election of Keir Starmer moved us in July 24. The assasination attempt on Donald Trump gives us the first month with four news.

The Star Trek Part includes the election of the French Parliament. Even though Michel Barnier was confirmed in office in September, we here assume that it was well known that he would win. The true date was September 5th, and that was two days after Sisko and his friends visited the sanctuary districts. At the party, which Dax visits then, they say that the Neo-Trotzkiysts win over the Gaullists. This was adjusted a little bit to fit in the real world events. It is also said, that in the US (and among Populists) it has all been a misunderstanding. According to the developments in present day it sounds realistic, that the rich only believe, what they want to believe. So a little bit of Retcon here, as I didn't want to come up with this cause in September. Mentioning of holidays in Europe is also a side cut to the Deep Space Nine Episode.

In an "Underline" there is also a mentioning of Buck Bokais Second Season. As he was famous, he surely hasn't the status of a world wide VIP as in later times, so he would not deserve a bigger headline. The text from the Episode "In the Cards" visible on namend card states, Buck Bokai was given the title of best battler of the Solar System. As mankind isn't far into their own solar system (yet), this was also changed a little bit and it is mentioned, that some people think of him as such (I really didn't want to erase that with the Time Travels from SNW).
