I play Skye Boat Song in Loch Coruisk (Skye Island) where this air has been collected by Miss Annie MacLeod (Lady Wilson) in the 1870's. She heard it singing by some rowers (original title is: The Cuckoo in the Grove). A talented composer and singer, she remembered fragments of the song and fashioned them into a Jacobite air helped by Sir Harold Boulton. Loch Coruisk is a wonderful place with an exceptional acoustic. I greatly recommend to every piper to play in it!
