Gyraf Audio - G24 Compressor - KMR Demo Room

Gyraf Audio Gyratec XXIV (G24) is a unique stereo compressor based on a dual Mid-Side design.

The “secret sauce” of this processor is based on how it enables individual gain control of the Mid and Side. An ELLIPTIC control continuously blends between M & S components - when centred it results in “traditional” stereo (L-R) compression.

G24 is effectively two M-S compressors which feed the same optical cells - allowing independent compression settings for Mid and Side on Channels A and B, with a CONTROL knob continuously fading between the two.

An EMPHASIS control applies gentle tone shaping - at its extreme setting it adds/subtracts around 1dB/Octave across the spectrum and when centred it results in traditional linear response.

Gyraf Audio G24 uses a fully passive audio path with only a metal film resistor, transformer and photo resistor for each channel.

This processor has a highly natural and open sound - making it possible to add large amounts of compression without adversely affecting the original mix balance. Perfect for mastering applications, but also a great choice for bus duties.
