Pakistan’s rice exports bounced back strongly in December, rising by 14 percent compared to November, driven mainly by a sharp jump in Basmati shipments.
More than half of the growth came from Basmati rice, helping Pakistan export nearly 489,000 tonnes during the month – excluding trade with Iran. That performance pushed Pakistan ahead of Vietnam, making it the world’s third-largest rice exporter in December, behind only India and Thailand.
