7th EUROSAF Beneteau First 18 SE European Championship

Slovenian Crew Became European Champions in BENETEAU First 18 SE Class 2025

The 7th 7th EUROSAF Beneteau First 18 SE European Championship concluded on 23th of August 2025 in our home waters of Portorož, Slovenia, delivering five days filled with tactical racing, light winds, and the unique spirit of our First SE community.

Out of 42 registered boats, a strong fleet of 36 crews from across Europe competed in tricky and variable conditions—featuring light breezes up to 10 knots, occasional rain, and plenty of patience while waiting for wind. Despite the challenges, seven races were successfully completed. Presenting the essence of this First SE class known for welcoming sailors of all levels into competitive recreational One-Design racing.

🏆 European Champions
Jure Jerkovič and Robert Zajc (ŠD Gibanica, Slovenia) secured the title through consistent, smart sailing across the fleet.

🥈 Second place:
Goran Stevanović and Nikola Marjanović (JK Ada, Serbia)

🥉 Third place:
Mitja and his 12 years old son Matic Margon (JK Pirat Portorož, Slovenia)

Vladimir Borštnar, Regatta Director, shared:
“We were fortunate to complete seven races, given the tricky weather. It’s fantastic to see such strong participation—this class is clearly growing, and the enthusiasm on and off the water was inspiring.”

Once again, the First 18 SE proved to be the perfect boat for those seeking fun, performance, and pure sailing joy in a one-design format.
