The Hammerum Girl's Dress from the Iron Age, around the year 100 AD, is one of the best-preserved pieces of textile from Denmark's ancient times. Hammerum is located in Central Jutland, not far from the town of Herning. The garment has been recreated by Museum Midtjylland in collaboration with the textile workshop at Sagnlandet, Lejre.
Experience the skilled craftsmen from Lejre in action with sheep shearing, wool spinning, yarn dyeing with plants, loom setting, band weaving, and weaving of the garment itself.
The 2,000-year-old garment can be seen at Museum Midtjylland.
