NEPTUNE MEMORIAL REEF | SCUBADIVING IN MIAMI FLORIDA

Scuba diving Neptune Memorial Reef was at the top of my list of things to do when I landed in Miami, Florida. It's an underwater cemetery just off the coast, and a very cool and creepy dive site. If you'd like a burial at sea, you can have your ashes mixed with concrete. Then, you are formed into a small statue and sunk in the Atlantic Ocean to be part of the artificial reef.

By chance, I was in the area around Halloween, and jumped on a boat to experience one of the most unique dives of my life. Tarpoon Lagoon and Ocean Safari (Both PADI dive centres) were running a night dive on Neptune Memorial Reef to carve pumpkins. Spooky, Epic, Beautiful. It was amazing.

Florida state has some very impressive SCUBA diving, I wish I had more time to explore while I was there. I only had time for this experience, and Manatees further north. Florida is worth the travel time if you're a diver, so much to see!
