A Glimpse of the Old Raju: Tatay Raju Finally Recognizes Me!

Armed with some of his favorite food and a few comfort items, I visited Tatay Raju at the rehabilitation center today and left filled with hope. He is still very quiet and reserved, but I saw a spark of recognition in his eyes when I walked in. Slowly but surely, he’s responding to simple questions and recognizing familiar faces. It’s a quiet miracle unfolding in front of us—each small step forward feels like a huge victory. I’m ending the day feeling grateful and optimistic, knowing we’re one step closer to getting Tatay Raju healthy again and maybe even back home to the USA 🙏
