The Nigerian booth at the Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD) was unmanned on the first day, prompting a Nigerian social entrepreneur to express disappointment and personally engage visitors. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs later stated the booth had not officially opened, with the booth opening instead on the second day.
The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) announced that 7,000 Nigerian migrants are stranded in Libya, highlighting the country's high rate of irregular migration.
In Anambra, Governor Chukwuma Soludo condemned the violent attack on an NYSC corps member, confirming that the vigilantes involved have been dismissed, arrested, and are under investigation.
Separately, Edo State has followed Imo State in banning graduation ceremonies for primary and nursery school students to ensure a focus on academic achievement. Both states are also encouraging the reuse of approved textbooks.

This comes as the construction company AEC Unity says that work on the Abuja-Lagos superhighway, which aims to reduce travel time to four hours, should begin this year.
