This webinar discusses how batteries are often considered the heart of a substation, playing a vital role in providing a source of backup power to operate critical protection systems in the event of a fault.
This webinar will review battery capacity testing recommendations from both IEEE-450 for Vented Lead-Acid Batteries and IEEE-1188 for Valve Regulated Lead-Acid Batteries. We will discuss elements to consider when designing a test program including temperature effects and discharge cycles. We will also contrast IEEE recommendations with NERC recommendations.
