Prime Minister Narendra Modi asserted on Wednesday that former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru opposed all forms of reservation for backward classes. Referring to a letter addressed to chief ministers, PM Modi stated, "Nehru wrote, 'I don't support any form of reservations, particularly in employment. I am against any measure that would undermine merit and push us towards mediocrity'."
