Beginning in vibrant Budapest, Hungary, we cruise upstream along the Danube River with stops in Vienna, Austria, beautiful Durnstein then Regensburg and historic Nuremberg, Germany. Leaving Budapest, we first pass the exquisite Parliament Building.
Leaving Budapest and continuing along a 95km stretch of the river we pass between both Hungary on our left and Slovakia on our right. We see the castles of Slovakia's captital Bratislava.
Vienna, capital of Austria is next with soaring St. Stephen’s Cathedral, the Vienna Opera House, and all the busy-ness of athriving European city. Incidentally, Vienna was the haunt of Sigmund Freud. I
Melk, boasts the majestic Benedictine Abbey, one of Europe’s largest monasteries.
Farther along the Danube River are the medieval walls of Regensburg—the only German city not bombed during WWII. There's the monumental stone bridge with an ancient sausage specialty shop at one end.
Finally we arrive at the thousand-year-old city of Nuremberg featuring medieval fortifications, extraordinary Gothic churches, and the Imperial Castle. The Main Square is as lively as any in Europe with music, clowns, food and beer.
