Today’s ride started from the exact point where I ended my last day — about 35 km before Booni. I began early in the morning, and my first destination was Booni, the headquarters of Upper Chitral district.
I headed straight to the DC Office to get my NOC (No Objection Certificate), as traveling to Karumber Lake and Broghal Valley requires 4 copies of the NOC. Without them, you simply can’t go further. The process was surprisingly quick — just 30 minutes — and all I needed was my CNIC and bike documents.
After collecting the original NOC, I went to Booni Bazaar to make 4 photocopies. With that done, it was time for food — I enjoyed 3 Seekh Boti, 1 Chapli Kebab, and 1 Roti for just Rs. 430.
From there, I continued my journey towards Mastuj. On the way, I spotted a striking Iron Mountain — a rare sight! Unfortunately, rain started, and I decided to stop my ride in Mastuj. I stayed at Noor Mahal Hotel for Rs. 1000 per night.
In the evening, I explored Mastuj Bazaar, where I had Chicken Korma (Rs. 300 per plate) with 2 rotis, and a cup of tea for Rs. 60.
Booni may be the administrative heart of Upper Chitral, but Mastuj, one of its historic tehsils, has its own charm. This day was full of local culture, mountain beauty, and the first step toward my Mission Karumber.
