Thanks to the support of people like you, Marie Jeanne and Germaine were able to receive a free 15 minute cataract surgery on board the Africa Mercy in Madagascar.
After the surgery, for the first time in nearly three years, Marie Jeanne and Germaine’s eyes met. Light and colour flooded back in an instant. The surgery had taken only 15 minutes, yet it had changed everything.
"We no longer live in darkness," said Marie Jeane.
Overcome with emotion, they danced just as they had when music, laughter, and the warmth of family filled their lives.
Today, Marie Jeanne can watch her daughter live fully again, and Germaine takes pride in supporting her family. Thanks to the gift of sight, they stepped into a future filled with new possibilities.
Sadly, many other people like Marie Jeanne and Germaine are still waiting for the surgery they urgently need. Without help, they face a future of pain, rejection and lost dreams.
You have the power to change that.
