A close look at a nicely optioned 1978 Camaro Z28. Driving the car is a tell tail that it is very low mileage and very well taken care of. As well, the condition of the paint, door and t-top seals and interior are proof that this car rarely spent a night (or many days) outside of the garage.
1978 Camaro Z28 Details......
The Second Generation Camaro production ran from mid 1970 to 1981. Here is a rare one owner low mile 1978 Camaro Z28. This rare “Canadian” Camaro features it’s numbers matching original 170 hp, 5.7 L V8 and a three-speed automatic transmission. It also has T-tops and it is painted a super rare 1 year only colour Code - 34 (Yellow-Orange), only offered on the Z28. It's virtually the same as the U.S. models, however, as part of the Canadian Equipment package offering, this car has metric instruments, block heater, rear defrost, etc. The value of this car is driven by its historical significance. And the original, untouched condition of this car certainly makes it valuable.
In 1978, Camaro received a facelift with all new moulded polyurethane front and rear bumper covers, creating a physical transition from previous years. New body colours, and the updated appearance of the car was very well received with over 250,000 produced in 1978.
One of One???
Less than 1% (2311) of the Camaros produced in 1978 came with the colour code (34). Only 2% of total Camaros were built for Canadian Dealers and less than 4% of Camaros were ordered with t-tops. That math alone suggests there was only 1 or 2 of these particular cars produced.
(2311 x .02 x .04) = 1.84
