Meliz Redif - first Turkish Cypriot to compete at the Olympics

Go Meliz Go! This short film in Turkish by mobile network operator Kibris Telsim features Turkish Cypriot runner Meliz Redif in her native North Cyprus. On Friday 10 August 2012, she will make history as the first Turkish Cypriot to take part in the Olympics.

Due to the sporting embargoes, Meliz had to change her national identity & citizenship to take part as a runner for Turkey in their 4 x 400m relay. We are all immensely proud she will be flying the flag for both countries when she runs in the heats at the London 2012 Olympic Games on Friday 10th, circa 7pm UK time.
