As Uganda continues to witness an unprecedented level of electoral irregularities, the situation has escalated into an operation that resulted in the abduction of opposition leader Robert Kyagulanyi (Bobi Wine), who was airlifted by helicopter to an unknown location, with his whereabouts remaining unclear.
Amid these developments, the election also produced unexpected outcomes, including the defeat of several veteran politicians who have served in Parliament for many years. Among those affected were Mathias Mpuuga of Nyendo–Mukungwe, who lost to Ssebina Gyaviira; Medard Lubega Sseggona, who was defeated by Moses Magoola; and Abed Bwanika, who also lost his seat, alongside a number of others.
