Peak District Bouldering 2024

So, there goes another year. As I got to the end of 2024 I was feeling like I'd not really done much, but looking back at all this I don't actually feel too bad 🙂

2024 went a bit wrong quite early on, with a ruptured A2 stopping play for weeks and taking months to really feel strong again, during which time I aggravated my shoulder to the point I had trouble lifting my arm.... So, being the optimist I am, I decided this year would be about exploring new areas rather than climbing hard.

And that's what I did. The crags in the Birchover area were new to me and I loved setting my alarm for 4am, and going down there for a few hours before work. I even got out West, visiting the Roaches and Clouds, Newstones & Baldstones, Gib Torr...

I've been a bit more sociable this year which has been nice, so shout-out to anyone I've shared a pad with. Doing Technical Master with Jack back in April was a definite highlight. And big-up Carlos: Hip Breaker is probably the hardest problem in this compilation! For me at least.

I'm thinking I'll try to climb some harder boulders next year, so if that happens there won't be much action on the channel, as I'll mostly be failing, getting tired, sore and frustrated.
