Cem Çatık - Foot Soup (Official Music Video)

Foot Soup is a high-energy instrumental jazz/fusion piece that blends elements of funk, jazz ballad, and progressive rock. The organic feel of the live studio recording, paired with a strong bass riff, a through-composed structure, and improvisational solos, brings a flowing, dynamic quality to the track. The interaction between guitar, synth, and drum solos offers listeners a rich, emotional, and technically compelling journey. The track’s playful title and striking riff were contributed by bassist Erhan Ertetik.

Under the roof of Bubinga Records, Cem Çatık brings to life the collective spirit that has grown within the label. Worked on alongside live performances since January 2023, the album was recorded live at Bubinga Records in Istanbul. The core of the project is a power trio featuring Erkan Sönmez on drums and Halil Çağlar Serin on bass, with guest appearances by Berkan Kaya on keyboards (Foot Soup, Opening, Ballad for TWDLB) and Emre Karabulut on guitar (Beyond Words). All six compositions on the album are written by Cem Çatık, except for the title track Almost There, co-written with Erkan and Halil. Çatık took on the recording, mixing, mastering, and production processes himself, collaborating with Adham Farid during the mastering stage. The album’s cover illustration and graphic design were created by Bernardo Anichini.
